Dull, uneven skin texture and stubborn pigmentation can make you feel like your complexion has lost its vitality, no matter how diligent your skincare routine. At Choosi Skin Face and Laser Spa in Cincinnati, OH, we offer the VI Peel, a medical-grade chemical peel that delivers dramatic skin renewal with minimal downtime. Under the guidance of Dr. Tiffany Hall, our team provides this rejuvenating treatment to help you achieve the clear, glowing skin you deserve.
Free ConsultationAs a medical-grade chemical peel, the VI Peel uses a powerfully formulated blend of ingredients to exfoliate damaged surface layers and stimulate cellular regeneration. Unlike superficial peels available at spas, this physician-strength formula penetrates the deeper skin layers to address hyperpigmentation, fine lines, acne scars and uneven texture. The VI Peel works by triggering a controlled injury response that prompts your skin to shed damaged cells and reveal the new, healthy skin beneath.
The VI Peel combines trichloroacetic acid (TCA), retinoic acid, salicylic acid, phenol and vitamin C to create a powerful exfoliating effect. When applied to your skin, these ingredients dissolve the bonds between your dead skin cells, which allows them to slough off over the following days. Simultaneously, the peel stimulates collagen production in deeper skin layers, improving firmness and elasticity from within.
The retinoic acid accelerates cellular turnover while vitamin C provides antioxidant protection and brightening effects. Salicylic acid penetrates pores to clear congestion and reduce inflammation, making this peel particularly effective for active acne. The phenol component helps the other ingredients penetrate more effectively while providing additional exfoliation. This multi-ingredient approach addresses multiple skin concerns in one treatment.
The VI Peel breaks down excess melanin deposits that create dark spots, age spots and uneven skin tone. The combination of acids and brightening agents works to fade discoloration and restore an even complexion.
Salicylic acid clears clogged pores while the peel’s exfoliating action smooths the textural irregularities left by acne scarring. Regular treatments can significantly improve both active breakouts and the marks they leave behind.
By promoting new collagen format and accelerating cellular turnover, the VI Peel softens the appearance of fine lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead.
The exfoliating action refines rough, bumpy skin texture and creates a smoother, more polished surface. Your skin feels noticeably softer after the peeling process completes.
The VI Peel minimizes the appearance of enlarged pores by clearing congestion and refining skin texture. Regular treatments help maintain smaller-looking pores over time.
The VI Peel is one of a handful of chemical peels that is safe and effective for treating melasma, the stubborn patches of discoloration often triggered by hormonal changes. The controlled exfoliation helps fade persistent dark or discolored areas.
The VI Peel occupies a middle ground between superficial peels and deep resurfacing treatments. Superficial peels may require numerous sessions to achieve noticeable results, and they typically address only surface-level concerns. Deep peels provide dramatic results but involve significant downtime and higher risks, particularly for darker skin tones.
The VI Peel delivers substantial improvements comparable to deeper peels without the extended recovery period or safety concerns. A single treatment produces visible results, though a series of VI Peels spaced four to six weeks apart optimizes outcomes for significant skin concerns.
Your VI Peel experience begins with a thorough consultation during which we assess your skin concerns, medical history and aesthetic goals. We’ll photograph your skin to track improvements and provide detailed pre-treatment instructions. You should avoid retinoids, exfoliants and excessive sun exposure for at least one week before your peel.
The actual peel application takes approximately 30 minutes. After cleansing your skin thoroughly, your provider applies the VI Peel solution in controlled layers. You may feel a mild tingling or warm sensation during application, but most patients find the treatment very comfortable. Once the peel is applied, it remains on your skin for four to six hours before you remove it at home following our instructions.
You’ll notice tightness and slight bronzing of your skin on the first day after treatment. Peeling typically begins on day three and continues through day seven. The skin sheds in sheets rather than flaking, and the extent of peeling varies by individual.
We provide a comprehensive VI Peel aftercare kit with a gentle cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen and towelettes to support your skin through this process.
During the peeling phase, avoid picking at your skin, which could cause scarring or pigmentation issues. Use your aftercare kit diligently to keep your skin clean, hydrated and protected from the sun. Refrain from exercise, saunas and other activities that cause excessive sweating for the first few days. Most patients can return to work immediately, though some prefer to schedule treatments before a long weekend.
Many patients see significant improvement after a single VI Peel, particularly for mild texture concerns or brightening. For more substantial issues like deep acne scarring or melasma, we typically recommend a series of three to four peels spaced four to six weeks apart. Your provider will develop a treatment plan based on your specific concerns during your consultation.
Your skin will look fresh and glowing once the peeling completes, typically seven to 10 days after treatment. However, improvements continue developing over the following weeks as new collagen forms and cellular turnover accelerates. Final results are usually apparent within four weeks.
Most patients describe the sensation during application as mild tingling or warmth. Any discomfort is brief and easily tolerated. During the peeling phase, you may experience tightness or itching, but these sensations are manageable with proper moisturization.
The VI Peel works beautifully alongside other aesthetic treatments in a series, but not necessarily during the same treatment session. Many patients alternate VI Peels with RF microneedling or laser treatments for comprehensive skin rejuvenation. Botox and dermal fillers can also complement VI Peel results well. We can develop a treatment schedule for you that addresses your various concerns while allowing for proper healing between sessions.
