Build collagen from within with Sculptra®, Radiesse® and Bellafill®

Volume loss tends to creep up quietly. Cheeks flatten, the jawline softens and folds settle in around the mouth long before most people connect those changes to fading collagen. Biostimulators take a different route than traditional fillers by prompting your skin to rebuild its own structure over time.

At Choosi Skin Face & Laser Spa in Cincinnati, Dr. Tiffany Hall draws on more than 15 years of aesthetic experience to address facial volume loss at its source for patients across Mason, Kenwood and Dayton.

What Are Biostimulators?

Biostimulators are injectable treatments that encourage your body to produce new collagen rather than only filling a wrinkle with gel. Sculptra, Radiesse and Bellafill each use a different material to set this process in motion, and we carry all three at Choosi Skin so your provider can match the product to your goals. Where hyaluronic acid dermal fillers add instant volume that the body gradually absorbs, biostimulators work on a longer timeline and deliver results that can last years.

How Do Biostimulators Work?

The reason these treatments exist comes down to collagen biology. Our collagen content typically peaks between ages 25 and 34, and then it declines roughly 25 percent over the following four decades. That slow loss is what thins the skin and deepens fine lines and wrinkles.

Each biostimulator answers that collagen loss in its own way:

  • Sculptra, made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), deposits microparticles that the body absorbs while building fresh collagen in their place.
  • Radiesse uses calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres suspended in a gel, which gives immediate lift along with a scaffold for new collagen.
  • Bellafill suspends polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres in a purified collagen base, so the gel corrects right away while the microspheres stay put to support ongoing collagen growth.

Results That Keep Improving

Because biostimulators work with your own collagen, the effect tends to look better at the three-month mark than it did the week after treatment. The change is gradual, so friends and colleagues notice you look refreshed without guessing why.

Long-Lasting Correction

These treatments outlast most traditional fillers. Sculptra can hold for up to two years, Radiesse for 12 to 18 months and Bellafill for as long as five years, which means fewer appointments over time.

Volume That Looks Like You

Collagen built in the deeper layers adds structure where the face has thinned, restoring fullness that looks natural rather than overfilled.

Safe Across Skin Tones

Injectable biostimulators carry no pigmentation risk, making them a comfortable choice for every Fitzpatrick skin type, from the fairest to the deepest.

What to Expect From Your Biostimulator Treatment

Before Your Appointment

Your provider reviews your medical history, examines your facial structure and recommends the product that fits your goals. To limit bruising, we suggest avoiding blood-thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, ibuprofen and fish oil for about a week beforehand, when medically appropriate. Bellafill requires one extra step: a small skin test about four weeks ahead of treatment to rule out an allergy to its collagen base.

During Your Session

After cleansing the area, your injector places the product into targeted points using a fine needle or cannula. Most formulas include lidocaine, and patients typically describe the feeling as mild pressure or a quick pinch. A session usually runs 45 to 60 minutes depending on how many areas you treat.

After Your Injectable Treatment

You can return to normal activities the same day of treatment with Sculptra, Radiesse or Bellafill. Some swelling, redness or minor bruising is common and tends to settle within a few days. If you receive Sculptra, your provider will show you how to massage the treated areas at home to keep results even. Plan to skip strenuous exercise, alcohol and excess heat for 24 to 48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Do Results Last From Sculptra, Radiesse and Bellafill?

It depends on the product. Sculptra results can last up to two years, Radiesse holds for 12 to 18 months and Bellafill can maintain correction for up to five years. Lifestyle, treatment area and how your body builds collagen all play a part in the longevity of your biostimulator results.

How Many Injectable Sessions Will I Need?

Sculptra is usually given over a series of about three sessions spaced a few weeks apart, since collagen builds gradually. Radiesse and Bellafill often produce the desired correction in one visit, though some patients return for touch-ups.

Can I Combine Biostimulators With Other Treatments?

Yes. Many patients pair biostimulators with Botox to relax expression lines while collagen rebuilds underlying volume. Botox, biostimulators and HA filler are often combined to achieve full facial balancing. Your provider can map out a plan that layers treatments safely.

Are Biostimulators Right for Me?

If you’re noticing volume loss, softening contours or deepening folds and you want results that last, biostimulators are worth a conversation. A consultation at Choosi Skin is the best way to find out which option fits your face and your goals.
